Digit Filters Neighbors Boxed Pick 3 The Neighbors Boxed (P34ID:NB-BOX) is a so called "digit filter". A digit filter divides each digit into options. The Neighbors filter has the following options:
Neighbors = Digits 1 = 0 1 2 = 2 3 3 = 4 5 4 = 6 7 5 = 8 9
The addition "Boxed" (BOX) refers to the fact that in this case the position within the result is of no interest. So the filter string is always sorted in ascending order.
To show you how to find the Neighbors filter for a Pick 3 number here an example step by step.
Pick 3 Neighbors Conversion Step 1: Divide the 703 into separate digits: 703 => 7 0 3 Step 2: Convert each digit to filter: 7 = 4 0 = 1 3 = 2 Step 3: Sort the filters in ascending order: 4 1 2 => 1 2 4 Step 4: Combine the filters to a string: 1 2 4 = 124
Neighbors (NB) is yet another alternative to the old VTracs (VTX). Instead of combining digits by adding 5 it selects the all even digits with the next odd digit up, 0 with 1, 2 with 3 all the way to 8 with 9. It is another efficient way to combine an odd with an even digit. |
