Combined Filters Neighbors Levels Pairs The Neighbors Levels (NB-LVL) is a so called "combined filter", a combination of a digit and a math filter. It requires two separate parts to create the filter.
Neighbors (NB) is yet another alternative to the old VTracs (VTX). Instead of combining digits by adding 5 it selects the all even digits with the next odd digit up, 0 with 1, 2 with 3 all the way to 8 with 9. It is another efficient way to combine an odd with an even digit. The Levels filter is a so called "math filter". Math filters are created through calculations. This filter provides a way to determine the relative "level" (height) of each digit in relation to the others, the lowest digit of a number always being 1. To show you how to calculate the Neighbors Levels filter for a Pick 2 number here an example step by step.
Part I: Pairs Neighbors Levels Conversion Step 1: Divide 18 into separate digits: 18 => 1 8 Step 2: Convert each digit to filter: 1 = 1 8 = 5 Step 3: Combine the filters to a string: 1 5 = 15
Part II: Pairs Neighbors Levels Conversion Step 1: Divide the number into separate digits: 15 => 1 5 Step 2: Select the unique digits and order from lowest to highest: 1 5 => 1 5 Step 3: Assign a level to each digit starting with 1: 1 => 1 5 => 2 Step 4: Convert the number using the table above: 1 5 => 1 2 Step 5: Combine the filters to a string: 1 2 = 12
