Combined Filters Neighbors Distances Pick 3 The Neighbors Distances (NB-DST) is a so called "combined filter", a combination of a digit and a math filter. It requires two separate parts to create the filter.
Neighbors (NB) is yet another alternative to the old VTracs (VTX). Instead of combining digits by adding 5 it selects the all even digits with the next odd digit up, 0 with 1, 2 with 3 all the way to 8 with 9. It is another efficient way to combine an odd with an even digit.
To show you how to calculate the Neighbors Distances filter for a Pick 3 number here an example step by step.
Part I: Pick 3 Neighbors Distances Conversion Step 1: Divide 494 into separate digits: 494 => 4 9 4 Step 2: Convert each digit to filter: 4 = 3 9 = 5 4 = 3 Step 3: Combine the filters to a string: 3 5 3 = 353
Part II: Pick 3 Neighbors Distances Conversion Step 1: Divide the number into separate digits: 353 => 3 5 3 Step 2: Calculate the distance between each digit and the next (the last digit with the first): 3 to 5 = 2 5 to 3 = 2 3 to 3 = 0 Step 3: Combine the filters to a string: 2 2 0 = 220
