Combined Filters Neighbors Distances Pick 4 The Neighbors Distances (NB-DST) is a so called "combined filter", a combination of a digit and a math filter. It requires two separate parts to create the filter.
Neighbors (NB) is yet another alternative to the old VTracs (VTX). Instead of combining digits by adding 5 it selects the all even digits with the next odd digit up, 0 with 1, 2 with 3 all the way to 8 with 9. It is another efficient way to combine an odd with an even digit.
To show you how to calculate the Neighbors Distances filter for a Pick 4 number here an example step by step.
Part I: Pick 4 Neighbors Distances Conversion Step 1: Divide 8198 into separate digits: 8198 => 8 1 9 8 Step 2: Convert each digit to filter: 8 = 5 1 = 1 9 = 5 8 = 5 Step 3: Combine the filters to a string: 5 1 5 5 = 5155
Part II: Pick 4 Neighbors Distances Conversion Step 1: Divide the number into separate digits: 5155 => 5 1 5 5 Step 2: Calculate the distance between each digit and the next (the last digit with the first): 5 to 1 = 4 1 to 5 = 4 5 to 5 = 0 5 to 5 = 0 Step 3: Combine the filters to a string: 4 4 0 0 = 4400
